Reviews On Autel MaxiVideo MV480 Endoscope Borescope

 

Today I’ve got the Autel MaxiVideo MV480 videoscope camera box. I’ll just be doing a quick review and overview. I’ve just got this bit of kit and I’m really happy with it.

Okay, let’s jump straight into the box. So as I lift the box lid here, I’ve got the probe obviously here and this is a 8.5 Millimeter Watertight Probe. There’s also another MV105 5.5mm Inspection Camera for choice.

 

Autel MV480 is an actual video camera, a trigger button on the backside for taking pictures. The accessories right side here are an user manual booklet, an adapter with the power adapter for UK, cables and connections.

 

 

I’ve just hooked up the MV480 endoscope camera. I’ll run through a few features of video scope now.

 

So along the back here is the trigger to take pictures and videos. Look at the buttons standard layout here. Bottom right is the toggle between photo and video. The bottom button above that is for saved photos and videos.

 

Here’s also a wheel. As I said if click the trigger at the back, the little picture will go down to the bottom right and shift over to this button.

 

 

I can also adjust the wheel now. There are 10 different light settings which is the light output of the MV480 camera.

 

Autel MV480 Videos Scope is really handy to also have zooming. So if I get into a tight place to zoom in, I can do that and the picture quality is very good.

 

 

There aren’t much settings in this MV480 camera. I can either change camera color to  monochrome, or put a time stamp in recording settings. It also supports auto rotate. so if I’m looking at an item from the side, I can flip the view without turning the actual camera itself.

 

So all in all, I’m really really happy with the MV480 videoscope. It has a quick release for the actual camera. Just remove its little thumb screw there, and then it pulls out. And I’ve got a mini USB.

 

 

Really happy with the Autel equipment so far. As I said I’ve bought myself the Autel scanner, the auto video camera, and I think I’ll buy the Autel TPMS kit TS508 as well.

How to use a Autel scan tool to access FCA vehicles?

Since FCA implemented a Secure Gateway Module(SGW) to protect vehicle networks, shops can register AutoAuth with Autel Diagnostic Tool to unlock SWG module on 2017+ Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Fiat vehicles. So that to do diagnostics like clear codes, bi-directional functions, active tests, actuation & relearns, immo key programming,  ADAS calibration, etc.

Autel tablet users will be able to gain access to the SGW module and perform previously restricted actions, by registering with AutoAuth, an authentication service.  Shops can register through AutoAuth’s Internet-based registration portal for $50 a year.  Up to six users can register under this initial fee, with additional users able to register for an additional nominal fee. The next step is for the shop to register its Autel tablets, up to 100 tools, on the site.  Starting June 1, 2020, Autel will “push” the software to all North American market tablets with active software subscriptions. Users with tablets out of subscription can purchase a Total Care Program software and warranty renewal through their authorized Autel dealer.

The secure gateway access is only available in USA, Canada, Mexico area. Autel has made this process very simple to access with 3 steps:

1. Register your shop & techs via Autel tablet or computer;
2. Register your Autel tablets on AutoAuth;
3. Ensure you Autel tablet has the latest software(valid software subscription is required)

How to activate & access your AutoAuth account?

1. Authorized OEM access account registration.

• Visit https://webapp.autoauth.com, click “Register Now”, complete “User Sign-up” Verify accounts via email and agreeing to the terms, then logged in.
• Enter payment and shop info: annual $50 fee allows up to 6 users, a $2 fee is incurred for each additional user.

 

2. Confirm compatible diagnostic platform;

• Manage your tool through “Shop Tools”or “Add Tools”.
• Add a tool by selecting the manufacturer.
• Select tool model(SN is on the backside barcode of Autel tool , it must be entered correctly or SGW access will not work).
• Enter model SN.

Note: Make sure the Internet connection is well. You have a valid software subscription and installed the latest Chrysler software.

 

3. Immediate authorized secure gateway access.

• Manage your user through “Manage Users”or “Add Users”.
• Your account will have a “Owner”which is the Admin and can add 5 additional users and up to 100 tools per location to the account at no additional charge.
• Once you log into AutoAuth on your MaxiSys, your approved credentials will be auto stored in MaxiSys software.

 

How to use a Autel scan tool to access FCA vehicles?

This is using Autel MaxiIM IM608 to work on a 2019 Jeep Wrangler as demonstration.

Use Autel MaxiIM IM508 or Autel MaxiSys MS906BT is exactly same way to access 2017+ Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Fiat vehicles.

Enter your AutoAuth username & password to login. (if do not have, click “New user registration” to follow the activation steps above.)

 

 

 

 

Security gateway module is open, now you can start to do all diagnosis and special functions.

Autel MaxiCOM MK808 Reset Hyundai Accent 2017 Throttle OK

I like Autel MaxiCOM MK808 this function so much, it has saved me a lot of work and time. The scan tool also performs oil reset, EPB, TPMS, BMS, DPF, SAS, injector, brake bleed...25 kinds of service functions. Definitely an useful helper for each repairman.
